A luxury one bed room hotel with a unique industrial heritage

At just 21 meters long, this architectural hideaway proves that true luxury lives in design, not scale. Every detail inside Vondice is recycled, handcrafted, and thoughtfully placed — from the floating staircase to the clay-plastered walls and reclaimed steel sun blinds.

Sleep soundly on a 2×2 meter king-size bed, wrapped in natural materials and supported by a Skoon organic mattress. Dutch oak meets raw concrete. Old steel is reborn as structure and shade. Light pours through the glass roof, while curated airflow and natural finishes create a healthier indoor climate.

The open kitchen and lounge offer all essentials: a coffee machine, hot plate, microwave, fridge, and tableware — designed for quiet mornings and slow evenings.

The hotel’s balcony is the perfect place to sit and watch the sun rise and set, with a terrace that spans the full 21 meters of the building and a breath-taking view in every direction. On the north side, you look out over the IJ, the river that crosses through Amsterdam. To the West, you can see the Orange locks, typical Dutch waterworks where fifty thousand sailing boats, cargo ships and pleasure craft continuously pass-through Amsterdam each year.

And with a five-minute walk to the tram stop, you can reach the centre of Amsterdam in fifteen minutes by public transport or bike (which you can use for free!).

For your more adventurous little ones, two extra connected sleeping places can be booked and prepared in the nook beneath the stairs, with mattresses measuring 60×180 cm. The vondice hotel is one of the few hotels in Amsterdam made suitable for a whole family. Please note that these beds are suitable for kids up to 10 years old.

From the bedroom you step right onto the balcony, with comfortable benches on the south and north sides.

The bed’s for adventurous kids are 180×60 centimeters (suitable for kids up to 10 years old).

The kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine, hot water tap, stove, combination microwave, refrigerator, dishes and cutlery. The comfortable sitting area is there to relax, eat or work.
